Join the Board of Directors!

 

 

Help us shape the future of our Cooperative! Quabbin Harvest is seeking members to serve on its Board of Directors. 

 

The Board represents the member-owners of the Cooperative and guides its vision and policies. The purpose of the Board is to shape the cooperative vision, be strategic leaders, and to oversee the health of our organization. The role of the Board is particularly important as we guide our store and cooperative in this transitional phase. 

 

The Board meets on a monthly basis (currently the third Thursday of the month from 7-8:45pm), and more as needed. Directors are also urged to contribute time and energy serving on Committees or supporting the Cooperative in other ways. This is a volunteer position and Directors are not compensated financially for their time. 

 

Who is eligible? Any member in good standing can serve as a Director of the Cooperative. 

How long is the term? The term is 2 years, and Directors can serve consecutive terms.

How do I become a Director?  At our Annual General Meeting in the spring, members will vote on a slate of candidates to fill vacant seats. Candidates who are nominated and submit an application will be chosen by the current Board to fill the slate.

 

Any member in good standing can apply between February 8 and February 26th, 2016. The Board seeks to nominate more candidates than there are open seats to create a strong and competitive slate. The board is currently seeking to fill three seats for a total of eleven.

 

TO APPLY: Please write a letter of intent that includes your name, address, phone number, email address, a statement about why you would like to serve on the board (members will read this statement during the voting process), your qualifications, and two references.
