Time for a marketing makeover?
We're excited that our non-profit partner Quabbin Food Connector has received a $30,000 grant from the Rudolph Steiner Foundation to support efforts to let people know about the good things going on at 12 North Main Street.
A small working group is starting to meet this month to develop strategies for getting the word out more widely about what we do and why.
- We know there are a lot of people in the area who know we exist but have never been to the store.
- Like all food co-ops, we still struggle with the misconception that you have to be a member to shop here. (Just in case anyone is still wondering: you don't!)
- Then there are our Community Shares programs, which are innovative and important and reeeeaalllly hard to explain in a simple and clear way. They're a big part of how we're trying to shift away from the industrial food model and build a food system that benefits everybody involved, including local farmers and eaters with limited resources. How can we make the Community Shares a more central part of our pitch for why people might want to support the co-op?
The working group will tackle that and other questions in the coming months. We're happy to hear your thoughts, too, if you want to email us.
