Recipe: Creamy Green Beans

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh cut green beans or 16 to 20 ounces frozen green beans
  • 1 cup water
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Preparation:

  • Sauté mushrooms and onions in hot butter.
  • Add green beans, water, and salt and pepper.
  • Bring to a boil; reduce heat and cover.
  • Simmer until tender.
  • Add cream and heat through without boiling.
  • Taste and add more salt and pepper as needed.
  • Serves 4.
